Year-End Review : A Look Through 2022
In the last 365 days, Capital Futbol Club has helped raise the bar for the Salem soccer community. From a National Championship to complex expansions, while reaching 4,000 youth and counting, CFC has continued its mission of developing excellent soccer players and responsible citizens by using soccer as a vehicle for enriching kids’ lives through the the year of 2022.
Here is a look at the clubs top achievements over the last 12 months -
Served 4,000 youth in the Salem and greater Salem community
Granted $160,000 in scholarships
Completed Ed Davison Fields (a 3 million dollar project)
Returned G.R.A.S.S.P. (Grass Roots After School Soccer Program) to local elementary schools
Brought back TOPSoccer to Salem - a soccer program built for athletes with special needs
Increased Youth Referee Academy numbers (staffed every game)
Won a National Title in the Elite Academy League (2005 Boys Red)
Joined the Girls Academy (GA) to expand playing opportunities for our girls teams
Won the USL Academy NW Division
Won the USL 2 NW Division (for the second year in the row)
Won the opening round of the Lemar Hunt U.S. Open Cup with the USL 2 squad
Joined the USL W League to advance the game of women’s soccer
Successfully sent 13 Seniors to play collegiate soccer in the 2022-2023 school year
As we enter 2023, CFC is looking to further expand the complex’s developments as well as continue its on the field success. We are committed to building better soccer, better people, and a stronger community, together. Cheers to another year - here’s to the next season of the beautiful game.
