CFC’S ADAPTIVE SOCCER PROGRAM RECEIVES A $20,000 GRANT THANKS TO OCF
SALEM, Ore. – Capital Futbol Club has received $20,000 from the Oregon Community Foundation in support of TOPSoccer - CFC’s adaptive soccer program.
“This is a huge opportunity for our program that will greatly benefit our special needs community,” said Program Director JoAnna Fields. “Receiving these funds means that we can expand our community outreach, giving more adaptive athletes the chance to play soccer.”
US Youth Soccer TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a community-based training program for players experiencing intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. The CFC TOPSoccer program strives to provide soccer opportunities for players to develop skills at their own pace in a safe, fun, and inclusive environment.
CFC kick started their TOPSoccer program in the spring of 2022 under the direction of JoAnna Fields with the support of Vanessa Verboort (CFC alumni and current Occupational Therapy Grad Student) and Robert Garcia (Salem Leadership Foundation and GRASSP Program Director).
Funds were received on behalf of the Louise Minty Fund ($10K) and Doris J. Wipper Fund ($10K).
