Year-End Review : A Letter from our Executive Director
As 2021 comes to a close, I want to say thank you to each and every one of you for playing a part in the life of our club over the past year.
Whether you made the winning goal, stepped up to volunteer as a coach, chauffeured to and from practices, or made a financial contribution to the scholarship program, this club is what it is because of you and your involvement.
We have much to celebrate as a club on the field this year. Club highlights include:
The effort and flexibility of our community to get back on the field in the first part of 2021 under COVID guidelines in a safe way.
Trophies at State Cup, travels to regionals, and wins at the USL Academy Cup in May. Many successes on the field!
The beginning of the Youth Referee Academy and all the successes that have come from that as we begin, both in ref development and workforce development.
We raised and provided over $100,000 in scholarships for kids this year – that is nearly ⅓ more than we have ever done.
Beginning construction on our new fields and improvements to the complex.
You can add your highlights to the list from your own kids’ experience. For my family, I loved watching my 6 and 8 year old gain confidence and friendships in our Juniors Recreational program this fall.
Though 2021 was not without its challenges, we have much to be thankful for. As we look to 2022, let us again come together despite our challenges and differences in the pursuit of something we all believe in – using soccer as a way to help kids in life, create connections, develop character, and give hope.
I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to be a part of Capital Futbol Club, and I look forward to what may come in 2022.
Yours in Soccer,
Collin Box
CFC Executive Director
